We're sure many of you thought this day would never come -- some of the team were starting to wonder, too -- but we're finally ready to announce the winners of the 2007 Stargate Fan Awards!

That's right -- after compiling nearly 17,000 votes cast by over 3000 people for some 2500 nominations in a total of 276 categories -- we have the winners as chosen by you, the fans.

While you're there, don't forget to take a look at the winners of this year's Team Choice Awards which represent our team members' favorite works!

The awards team members would like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who participated -- nominators, nominees, and voters alike -- for so graciously dealing with our unexpected (and numerous!) delays this year as we improved our system and struggled through real life issues. We know it was as frustrating for you as it was for us. We truly appreciate the words of support and encouragement that we received along the way from you. We hope that it's been worth the wait!

In order to get back on track with the awards, we will begin accepting 2008 nominations within the next few weeks! Start gathering your favorite fan works from throughout the Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis fandom!

It's finally time! Voting is now open for the Stargate Fan Awards. You can vote for your favorites until March 3, 2008 at [link] .

Yes, we're a little – okay, a lot – behind schedule, but we think the
delay is worth it and we believe you'll appreciate the final product, too.

As in the past, anyone can view the nominated works, however, in order to vote, you must create an account and log in. You can register for an account at [link] .

NOTE: You may already have an account on our main site if you nominated works or have created an account there. Unfortunately, you MUST create a new account on our voting site. Only this year's nominees have current accounts and they can log in using their existing account information.
We apologize for this inconvenience and hope to fix this issue before the next awards' year.

Your account will keep track of your votes. You may log in at any time to see in what categories and for whom you have voted. Not only that but, should you change your mind, you can modify your votes as many times as you wish up until the closing date of March 3, 2008.

Please rest assured that we will not divulge your email address to anyone. We adhere to a strict privacy policy.

Hey guys, I notice that only 22 people are watching thing account, so I'd like to ask that you guys spread the word around if you can If you're a nominee you can't tell people to vote for your work, but you can tell people to vote for the best and point out what you've been nominated for They'll be posting the "Nominated for the SGFA 2007" banners soon, I'll find out when I can post my stamps to the group let us know if you have any questions!

I uploaded some stamps for nominee banners in a similar style as the regular banners will be. They're not up on the website yet because things are a little chaotic right now, but if you have a subscription for DevArt you can put these in your journal if you'd like, or you can wait and put one of the regular banners in your journal when they get those up.

We've had some difficulty getting the emails out, but if you KNOW you were nominated and did not receive a letter, let me know and I'll try to help you out.

Right now is nomination placement and you have until August 27 to place your nominations or they WILL NOT be part of the fan awards.

Some tips for placing your nominations:

Keep in mind that you can only have 10 nominations.

Also keep in mind you can only have one nomination per category. Granted, it's possible if we have enough nominations we can create new categories (for example, there is no category for Lorne, but if we have 5 Lorne pencil portraits, we will be able to give him his own subcategory). But there are other categories that are likely to be combined. (For example, Teal'c/Vala videos are likely to be combined with OtherShip videos since I've only seen like one or two Tealc/Vala videos... ever.) Just keep that in mind.

The category: secondary choice is really more for fanfic than for videos and art. Really, just choose "other" or some other category you wouldn't kill us to put it in, but chances are me and the others on the multimedia team will be doing a lot of re-arranging of the categories since a lot might be combined or created. Just leave any notes about how you'd like it to be placed if there's some confusion.
